During the class period, Methode Electronics is charged with making false and/or misleading statements and/or failing to disclose that: (1) Methode's Monterrey facility faced operational, logistical, and personnel challenges related to the facility's conversion from low-cost to more complex products; (2) as a result, the Company lacked sufficient employees and production lines to produce its new automotive line; (3) as a result, the Company was not operating two full production shifts; (4) the Company lacked the necessary infrastructure to meet customer demand and ramp up production within its expected timeline; (5) these issues were exacerbated by Methode's inability to retain and train new hires, which subjected the Company to higher than expected labor and production costs; (6) as a result, Methode could not reasonably achieve the expected financial and operational results; and (7) as a result, the Company's public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times. 
On March 6, 2023, Methode announced its third quarter 2023 financial results. The Company reported revenue of $347.6 million and adjusted earnings per share ("EPS") of $0.63, both missing consensus estimates. The Company also withdrew its prior full year 2023 financial guidance citing "operational challenges" at its Monterrey facility.
On this news, Methode's stock price fell $10.34, or 12.9%, to close at $69.18 per share on March 7, 2023.
On July 26, 2023, Methode announced its fourth quarter and full year 2023 financial results. The Company reported revenue of $328.2 million and adjusted EPS of $0.47, both missing consensus estimates. The Company also reported that its Automotive segment reported an operating loss of $2.1 million and that the segment experienced “operational challenges” due to its Monterrey, Mexico facility, which was causing “increased costs and delayed launches.”
