So the big company HEICO bought another smaller company called Marway Power Solutions. This new little company Marway is really good at making special machines that help distribute power and they sell them to other big companies like defense, aerospace, communications and others. This is a great acquisition for HEICO because it allows them to reach more customers, sell more products and get a bigger piece of the cake. Also, it makes HEICO more popular among other big companies and helps them make more money.

Love how they give no details of what "Marway Power Solutions" does.
All I see is they mention power distribution. Aerospace/Defense stuff.
Just wondering if the power distribution mentioned is renewable energy or not.
I'm assuming not, as HEICO is a aerospace and defense contractor, and the stuff they sell is probably quite old and long-established tech.
What do you think?

Oh I like this acquisition. It's a small deal, but yet another foot in the door of the "Defense" industry. Something I feel is becoming more and more essential to any industrial's success.
It's becoming a race to see who can buy up the most defense companies and therefore have the most access to defense contracts.
Defense companies are going to be increasingly required to diversify their client base as well. If they can get in on both aerospace and defense, that's just a huge win.
I think this is a good deal. I think any defense company that wants to remain competitive needs to have a big foot in both aerospace and defense. I think this move will definitely help HEICO become more competitive.

I think I'm getting more confused. What's the "Defense" industry and how is it different from the aerospace industry?
I'm guessing it's something to do with weapons and warfare? I just can't imagine how that would relate to power distribution.
I'd love to hear your take on it, if you'd be so kind.
[ –]snow47 ( 3422 | -2 | 51) :
Yes, you're correct. The "Defense" industry is the weapons and warfare industry. It's a separate industry from the aerospace industry.
The aerospace industry is the industry that deals with the development of airplanes, rockets, and other flying machines.
The defense industry deals with the development of weapons and other tools of war.
Power distribution is a separate industry. It's the industry that deals with the transmission and distribution of electricity.
I think HEICO is buying a power distribution company because they see an opportunity to sell their power distribution products to the defense industry. The defense industry is a
