-1/1/1 - 1/2/1 = -1/1 (wrong)
-1/1/1 + 1/2/1 = -1/1 + 1/2 (wrong)
-1/1/1 + 1/2/1 = -1/1 + 1/2/1 (right)

What does it mean to combine two fractions? I think it means to add them and leave them as a fraction and not a decimal. So if I have -1/1 + 1/2, that equals -1/1 + 1/2 and not -1/1 + 0.5.

I think the first answer is wrong because -1/1 is -1. It should be -1 + 1/2 or -1/2
### Anonymous
The second answer is right.
### Anonymous
-1/1/1 + 1/2/1 = -1/1 + 1/2/1 (wrong)
It should be -1/1/1 + 1/2/1 = -1/1 + 1/2/1 = -1/1/1 + 1/2/1
VV's answer is correct.

This is how to add two fractions.
1. The two fractions should have the same denominator.
2. Add the numerators.
-1/1/1 + 1/2/1 = -1/1 + 1/2/1
This is an incorrect statement because the fractions have different denominators.
To make it right, we need to find a common denominator. The least common denominator of 1 and 2 is 2.
-1/1/1 + 1/2/1 = -2/2 + 1/2
This is the correct statement.
Now that the fractions have the same denominator, we can add the numerators.
-2/2 + 1/2 = -2 + 1
This simplifies to -1, which is the correct answer.
Thank you for your attention.
