There are 2 types of profit:
1. Exchange rate gain, increase of buying power as a result of currency movements.
For example, you purchased 1 Audi for 100 EUR.
1 year later you decided to sell the car, and the price remained the same 100 EUR.
But in the meantime the EUR/USD exchange rate decreased from 1.2 to 1.1, you gain 10 EUR on the exchange rate, like a bonus.
2. Price gain, increase of the asset price.
For example, you purchased 1 Audi for 100 EUR.
1 year later you decided to sell the car, and the price increased from 100 to 110 EUR, you gained 10 EUR from the asset price increase.
In this calculator, there is an opportunity to consider only 1 factor (price gain) or both factors (price gain + exchange rate gain) at once.
Usually exchange rate gains are higher than price gains.
For example, if you purchased 1 gold bar for 100 EUR and 1 year later you decided to sell it, considering only the price gain, you would receive 102 EUR (according to the inflation rate).
But considering both factors (price gain + exchange rate gain), you would receive 112 EUR (according to the inflation rate and the currency movements).
Thus, with the help of the calculator, you can calculate profit with the inflation rate and the exchange rate taken into account, as well as with the inflation rate only, as well as without taking into account the exchange rate and the inflation rate.
I hope my explanation will be clear for 7 years old too.

I purchased 5 shares of Infosys Limited on Mar 17, 2017 @ Rs.1,033/- and Sold on Oct 19, 2018 @ Rs.1,053/- How much did I make or lose on my investment? (Ignoring Dividend or other charges). My loss on this trade is Rs. 7,500. Is my calculation correct.
Can someone please help me on how to use the calculator. I am getting a strange result which is not making sense. My input values are Rs. 7,500 as loss and Rs. 1,033 as purchase price and Rs. 1,053 as sale price. The answer is Rs. 60,556 and that is not making any sense to me. I am expecting the calculator to show Rs. 1,03

Remember when Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak lived with his parents while Steve Jobs lived in his garage?[https://www.zdnet.com/article/apples-first-workspace-was-stevenote-cofounder-steve-wozniaks-parents-house/#ftag=RSSbaffb68](https://www.zdnet.com/article/apples-first-workspace-was-stevenote-cofounder-steve-wozniaks-parents-house/#ftag=RSSbaffb68)
The two founders worked together on the Apple 1, which was built in Wozniak's parent's garage. Steve Jobs also kept his "mini-motorcycle" in the garage.
Jobs said in a 1995 interview with the Silicon Valley Historical Association that the first Apple computer was built at Jobs' parents' house in Los Altos, California.
Apple has come a long way since the days when Jobs and Wozniak were just two young men with a vision. Now, the company is worth over $2 trillion and is one of the most valuable companies in the world.
The story of Apple's humble beginnings in Jobs' parents' garage is a reminder of how far the company has come and how much it has achieved.
