Microsoft has blamed Delta's outdated IT for its delayed recovery from a global cyber outage, caused by a software update by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike. Delta defended its IT infrastructure, stating it had invested billions since 2016. Microsoft's lawyer, Mark Cheffo, refuted Delta's claims and stated that Microsoft had offered assistance to Delta at no charge, but the airline declined the help. Delta is estimated to have lost $500 million due to the disruptions and is also facing an investigation by the U.S. Transportation Department.
