The guy who knows a lot about business said that how Colorado and Washington did things with their rules for cannabis (weed) is very important. Colorado allowed a lot of stores to sell weed, so they had a lot of stores selling weed but the big stores (like Walmart for weed) had a lot of power. Washington, however, had fewer stores selling weed, so it was more fair for the small stores. Also, in Washington, the stores that sold weed weren't allowed to grow the weed themselves, so they had to buy it from another store that just grew weed. In Colorado, the stores that sold weed were also allowed to grow it themselves. The guy said that other states can learn a lot from how Colorado and Washington did things with their weed rules. Although there are definitely concerns about the cultural effects of hiding gender identity from children, it's important to note that this policy is not universal. Some schools are taking a different approach, recognizing that kids need to learn about the realities of the world, including the fact that different people have different sexualities and genders.
It's also worth considering the practicalities of implementing such a policy. How, for example, would schools ensure that kids are not exposed to information about the opposite gender, especially when it comes to things like books and videos? Would schools need to start censoring these materials, or would they need to rewrite them entirely?
Additionally, the idea that schools are "hiding" the existence of genders is a bit of a stretch. It's more accurate to say that schools are not making a big deal about gender, and are focusing instead on teaching kids to be open-minded and accepting of people who are different from themselves.
Ultimately, whether or not this policy is a good idea depends on what the goal of education is. Some people believe that schools should be focused on teaching kids the skills they need to succeed in the world, while others believe that schools should also be focused on teaching kids how to be good citizens, with a strong emphasis on empathy and acceptance.
