I believe Steve Jobs, the person who created Apple, was asked about his thoughts on consulting companies and management consulting. In his speech, he suggested that without actually owning a business, these consultants cannot completely understand how businesses work.
He compared these consultants to people who have only seen pictures of bananas and other fruits, while the business owners can actually taste the fruits and have a more complete understanding of how they work.
The point Steve Jobs was trying to make is that experience and first-hand knowledge are very valuable and can't be replaced by consulting services.

I made several references to Steve Jobs and have shared clips of his speeches on Youtube:

I will now post a video that tells us what Steve Jobs really said.
In it, Steve Jobs said this:
"I think that without owning something over an extended period of time, like a few years, where someone has a chance to take responsibility for one's recommendations, where one has to see one's recommendations through all action stages and accumulate some scar tissue for the mistakes and pick one's self up off the ground and dust oneself off, one learns a fraction of what one can."
Steve Jobs is talking about the value of ownership and responsibility, as opposed to simply giving advice or recommendations. He's saying that people who own and operate their own businesses learn much more than people who only consult or advise on others' businesses.
So, in conclusion, Steve Jobs did not say that management consultants are "worthless". He actually said the opposite: that they can be valuable when they are involved in the business, and that they learn much less when they are only advisors or consultants.
